Gulf of Aden

Aden, Gulf of, arm of the Arabian Sea, 550 mi (885 km) long, lying between the Republic of Yemen on the north and Somalia on the south and connected with the Red Sea by the Strait of Bab-el Mandeb. It forms part of the sea route from the Mediterranean through the Suez Canal to the Indian Ocean.
