Adventists
Adventists, members of Christian sects, mainly in the United States, who believe in the imminent second coming of Christ. Adventism grew from the teachings of William Miller (1782–1849). Members of the largest Adventist sect, the Seventh-Day Adventists, formally organized in 1863, observe Saturday as the Sabbath and support an extensive missionary program.
