Maxwell Anderson

Anderson, Maxwell (1888–1959), U.S. playwright. After early realistic plays, he concentrated on the revival of verse drama, achieving some success with such plays as Elizabeth the Queen (1930), Winterset (1935), High Tor (1936), and The Bad Seed (1954).
