Anglo-Saxons

Anglo-Saxons, collective name for the Germanic peoples who dominated England from the 5th to the 11th centuries. They originated as tribes of Angles, Saxons, and Jutes who invaded England after Roman rule collapsed, creating kingdoms that eventually united to form the English nation. In modern usage, Anglo-Saxons are the English or their emigrant descendants in other parts of the world.
