Apocalypse

Apocalypse, prophetic revelation, usually about the end of the world and the ensuing establishment of a heavenly kingdom. Jewish and Christian apocalyptic writings appeared in Palestine between 200 B.C. and 150 A.D. and offered hope of liberation to a people under alien rule.
