Mount Ararat
Ararat, Mount, dormant volcanic mountain in eastern Turkey with 2 peaks, 16,950 ft (5,166 m) and 13,000 ft (3,962 m) high. According to the Bible, Noah's Ark landed on Mount Ararat (Genesis 8:4). The Armenians venerate the mountain as the “Mother of the World.”
