Margaret Atwood
Atwood, Margaret (1939–), Canadian poet and novelist. Atwood gained prominence with a collection of poetry, The Circle Game (1966). Among her other works are Bluebeard's Egg (1983), a collection of short stories, and the novels Surfacing (1972), Lady Oracle (1976), The Handmaid's Tale (1985), and Cat's Eye (1989).
