Iris Murdoch

Murdoch, Iris (1919– ), Irish-born British novelist. Her novels, such as A Fairly Honourable Defeat (1970) , The Sea, the Sea (1978), Nuns and Soldiers (1980), The Good Apprentice (1986), The Book and the Brotherhood (1988), and Jackson's Dilemma (1995), display wit and a gift for analyzing human relations.
