Ralph Nader



Nader, Ralph (1934– ), U.S. consumer crusader and lawyer. The controversy over his book Unsafe at Any Speed (1965), a criticism of safety standards in the auto industry, gained him support to investigate other areas of public interest, including chemical food additives, X-ray leakage, and government agencies. His work has resulted in Congressional hearings and remedial legislation.
