Nagoya
Nagoya (pop. 2,095,400), capital of Aichi prefecture, Japan, on the island of Honshu. It is a major port and a manufacturing center for textiles, steel, and ceramics. In 1610, the feudal lord Ieyasu Tokugawa built a magnificent castle at Nagoya.
