Johann Christian Bach
Bach, Johann Christian (1735–82), German composer and musician, often known as the “English Bach”; youngest son of Johann Sebastian Bach. He spent many years in Italy, where he angered his family by converting to Catholicism and writing operas. He spent the last 20 years of his life in London, where he was music master to King George III.
