Bandicoots

Bandicoots, any of several genera of marsupials of the family Peramelidae found in Oceania, roughly rabbit-sized with tapering snouts. There are considerable reproductive differences from other marsupials, and their fossil history is problematic, so that their relationship to other marsupials is not fully understood.
