Nereus



Nereus, in Greek mythology, sea god and father of the sea nymphs known as nereids. He was Homer's “Old Man of the Sea,” who had the ability to foretell the future and change his shape. Heracles, a Greek hero, obtained directions to the Hesperides as he successfully held Nereus, who changed into numerous shapes during the struggle. Nereus is also known for his prophecy about the Trojan War.
