Gérard de Nerval

Nerval, Gérard de (Gérard Labrunie; 1808–55), French romantic writer who anticipated the symbolist and surrealist movements in French literature. His works include a collection of sonnets, Les Chimères (1854); some short stories, Les Filles de Feu (1854); and his autobiography, Aurélia (1854–55).
