Allan Nevins
Nevins, Allan (1890–1971), U.S. historian whose best-known work is The Ordeal of the Union (1947–60) a series of books on the Civil War. Nevins received Pulitzer Prizes for his biographies Grover Cleveland (1932) and Hamilton Fish (1936). His many other works include the biography John D. Rockefeller (1953).
