Norns

Norns, in Scandinavian mythology, 3 sisters who represent past (Urd or Wyrd), present (Verdandi), and future (Skuld). Like the Greek Fates, they spin and cut the thread of life. According to earlier beliefs, there was a lesser Norn that controlled the fate of each individual.
