Nuclear Regulatory Commissionl
Nuclear Regulatory Commissionl (NRC), independent U.S. government agency set up in 1975 to license and regulate the civilian use of nuclear energy. The NRC, successor to the Atomic Energy Commission (founded 1946), sets safety standards for nuclear reactors.
