John Francis Cardinal O'Hara
O'Hara, John Francis Cardinal (1888–1960), Roman Catholic Church archbishop appointed a cardinal by Pope John XXIII in 1958. Ordained a priest in 1916, he began teaching religion in 1917 at Notre Dame University. He became its religious administrator and founded the College of Commerce. Chosen to be the university's president in 1934, he served for 5 years. He was ordained a bishop in 1940 and an archbishop in 1951.
