Ohio River

Ohio River, main eastern tributary of the Mississippi River. The Ohio is formed at Pittsburgh, Pa., by the junction of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers. It flows generally southwest for c.980 mi (1,557 km) and is navigable throughout.
