Aristotle Socrates Onassis

Onassis, Aristotle Socrates (1906–75), Greek shipping magnate since the early 1930s. With relatives Stavros Livanos and Stavros Niarchos he developed the world's most powerful shipping partnership. He held citizenships in Greece and Argentina. In 1968 he married Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, widow of President John F. Kennedy.
