Optical illusion

Optical illusion, visual distortion of reality. To an observer standing at the corner of a street and looking down the row of houses on the street, the closest house will appear to be the biggest, while the house at the end will seem the smallest. Since the houses are all roughly the same size, the perception that the closer ones are large and the further ones are small is an optical illusion. This differs from an illusion, where a person sees an object but it isn't really there.
