Origen (Origines Adamantius; A.D. 185?–A.D. 254?), one of the foremost radical theologians of the early Christian Church. Born in Alexandria, Egypt, Origen tried to reconcile Greek philosophy with Christian theology in works like De Principalis (On First Principles) and Contra Celsum (Against Celsus), a defense of Christianity.
