Bobby Orr



Orr, Bobby (1948– ), Canadian-born, U.S. hockey player. Known for his leadership and scoring, he played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Boston Bruins (1967–76), where he was chosen the NHL's most valuable player 3 times (1970, 71, 72) and was named the most outstanding defense-men 8 consecutive times (1968–75). He finished his career with the Chicago Black Hawks (1976–79) after suffering serious knee injuries. Orr was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979.
