Wilhelm Ostwald



Ostwald, Wilhelm (1853–1932), German physical chemist regarded as a father of physical chemistry, awarded the 1909 Nobel Prize for chemistry for his work on catalysis. He also developed the Ostwald process for manufacturing nitric acid.
