James Otis

Otis, James (1725–83), American Revolutionary politician in the colonial conflict for independence from Great Britain. He was instrumental in establishing the Stamp Act Congress of 1765, assisted Samuel Adams in protesting several revenue acts, and published The Rights of the British Colonies Asserted and Proved (1764).
