Ottawa

Ottawa, name of large North American Native American tribe of the Algonquian family originally inhabiting, with the Ojibwa and Potawatomi tribes, the region north of the Great Lakes. The Ottawa later moved to Manitoulin Island. They were active traders and negotiated with the French.
