Palm Springs



Palm Springs (pop. 32,359), city in southern California where natural hot springs (for which the Spanish named it Agua Caliente) make it a resort and tourist center. The area was populated by Native Americans before the arrival of the Spanish, and part of it remains reservation land for the Cahuilla tribe.
