Parakeet

Parakeet, popular name for any of various small parrots, usually with green plumage and a long tail, popular as a cage bird and native to the Indo-Malayan region. The best known of the true parakeets is the budgerigar (Melopsittacus undulatus), also called the zebra, shell, or grass parakeet.
