I.M. Pei
Pei, I.M. (1917– ), Chinese-born U.S. architect of public buildings and urban complexes, e.g., the Mile High Center in Denver, Place Ville Marie in Montreal, the John Hancock Tower in Boston, and the National Gallery's East Wing in Washington, D.C. Most are noted for their simplicity and environmental harmony. In the early 1990s his pyramid- shaped addition of the Louvre (Paris) was comleted.
