Giovanni Battista Pergolesi

Pergolesi, Giovanni Battista (1710–36), Italian opera composer famed for his comic intermezzo The Maid as Mistress (1733). He also composed serious opera and religious music, such as the Mass in F (1734) and Stabat Mater (1736).
