Physical chemistry

Physical chemistry, branch of chemistry in which the theories and methods of physics are applied to chemical systems. Its main divisions are the study of molecular structure, colloids, crystals, electrochemistry, chemical equilibrium, gas laws, chemical kinetics, molecular weight determination, photochemistry, solution, spectroscopy, and chemical thermodynamics.
