Piero della Francesca
Piero della Francesca (c.1420–92), Italian painter, one of the greatest Renaissance artists. His concern for the harmonious relationship of figures to their setting was expressed through simple, elegant forms, clear colors and tones, atmospheric light, and perspective, as seen in his fresco Legend of the True Cross (1452–59) in Arezzo.
