Pointer

Pointer, large hunting dog. It uses its keen sense of smell to hunt game birds. When the pointer detects a bird, it stands absolutely still and points its nose towards the bird to show the hunter where it is. A pointer has a short white coat with black, yellow, orange, or reddish-brown marks. Its shoulder height ranges from 23 to 28 in (58 to 71 cm), and it weighs from 45 to 75 lb (20 to 34 kg).
