Port Louis

Port Louis (pop. 142,800), capital and largest city of the island nation of Mauritius. Located on a sheltered harbor of the Indian Ocean on the northwestern shore of the country's main island, Port Louis is a key agricultural and industrial export center. It was founded by the French in 1735 and named for King Louis XV.
