Francis Poulenc



Poulenc, Francis (1899–1963), French composer, member of the post-World War II group of composers called Les Six. His music is light in texture, although serious. His best-known works include Mouvements perpetuels for piano (1918), the ballet Les Biches (1924), and the opera Dialogue des Carmélites (1957). He was also a notable songwriter.
