Pronghorn



Pronghorn, resembling an antelope (Antilocapra americana) the only horned animal that sheds its horn sheath and the only one with branched horns as distinct from antlers. They live in groups in arid grasslands and semi-desert of western North America, feeding on weeds and browse plants. Conservation efforts have restored numbers from an estimated 30,000 in 1924 to a present 400,000.
