Psi particle



Psi particle, subatomic particle consisting of a charmed quark and an anticharmed quark bonded by their opposite electric charges and a strong nuclear force, or strong interaction. The psi particle itself has no electric charge. The psi particle, also called a J particle, was discovered in 1974 by two separate teams of U.S. physicists.
