Pullman Strike



Pullman Strike (May-July 1894), famous boycott of rolling stock of the Pullman Palace Car Co., Pullman, Ill., by E.V. Dees's American Railway Union to protest the company's wage cuts and victimization of union representatives. After the owners obtained a federal injunction the strike was broken by federal troops and the U.S. labor movement suffered a major setback.
