Pure food and drug laws



Pure food and drug laws, in the United States, general term for laws such as the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (1938) prohibiting the distribution of impure foods and drugs and the false or misleading labeling of such products. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) enforces these laws and publishes explanatory regulations.
