Quebec Act

Quebec Act, passed by the British Parliament in 1774, one of the Intolerable Acts that led to the American Revolution. It guaranteed the use of the French civil code and established religious freedom for the Roman Catholic Church in Quebec. It also extended Quebec's boundary to the Ohio and Mississippi rivers.
