Rainy Lake

Rainy Lake, island-studded lake on the U.S.-Canadian border, between Minnesota and Ontario, located 125 mi (201 km) north of Duluth. It covers 350 sq mi (906.5 sq km) and forms a 56 mi (90 km) long and 5 mi(8 km) wide area flanked by rocky, pine-covered, and deeply serrated shores. It drains into the Lake of the Woods by way of the Rainy River.
