Robert Redford
Redford, Robert (1937– ),U.S. actor and director, winner of the Academy Award for best director (1980) for Ordinary People. He made his film debut in War Hunt (1962), and his best-known roles include Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), The Sting (1973), All the President's Men (1976), The Electric Horseman (1979), The Natural (1984), Out of Africa (1985), and Havana (1990). Other films he directed include The Milagro Beanfield War (1988), A River Runs Through It (1993), and Quiz Show (1994). His Utah ranch, Sundance, is a ski resort and school for film arts.
