Redpoll

Redpoll, small bird (Acanthis flammed) of the finch family. Redpolls are commonly found in northern North America and migrate as far south as California and the Carolinas. Both males and females have reddish crowns; the male also has a rosy-pink breast. Adult redpolls feed on plant buds and insects. They build their nests in bushes and small trees and line them with feathers. Usually 5–7 blue speckled eggs are laid at a time.
