Regency style
Regency style, English architectural and decorative style popular during the regency and reign of George IV (1811–30). It was characterized by neoclassical elegance, refinement, and the use of Egyptian and Oriental forms. John Nash was the foremost architect of the period. The term also refers to the elaborate decorative style of the French Régence (1715–23).
