Jean Renoir
Renoir, Jean (1894–1979), French film director, son of Pierre Auguste Renoir. His motion pictures are characterized by a sensitive feeling for atmosphere and a strong pictorial sense. La Grande Illusion (1937) and The Rules of the Game (1939) are two of his most important works.
