Resurrection plant

Resurrection plant, one of several species of plants that curl up when dry but turn green when exposed to water. The rose of Jericho (Anastatica hierochuntica), a member of the mustard family, grows from seeds and, when dry, loses its leaves and curls up into a ball. The wind carries the balls, thus scattering the seeds. Another plant, also called the rose of Jericho (Selaginella lepidophylla), a member of the selaginella family, is most commonly found in the arid regions of the Middle East and North Africa. It reproduces by microscopic spores.
