Book of Revelation

Revelation, Book of, or Apocalypse, the last book of the New Testament. Traditionally ascribed to St. John the Apostle, it was probably written by another John, and dated c.96. It is addressed to people being persecuted. After 7 letters to the Asia Minor churches, it contains a series of apocalyptic visions in Old Testament imagery, giving a Christian philosophy of world history.
