Paul Reynaud



Reynaud, Paul (1878–1966), French statesman. After holding a number of cabinet posts (from 1930), he became premier (1940). An opponent of the Nazis, he spent World War II in prison. Afterward he held several posts and helped draft the constitution of the Fifth Republic (1958).
