Carlos Saavedra Lamas
Saavedra Lamas, Carlos (1880–1959), Argentinian lawyer and statesman. As Argentina's foreign minister (1932–8), he presided over the conference that ended the Chaco War (1935). He won the 1936 Nobel Peace Prize.
