Saint-Gaudens, Augustus (1848–1907), U.S. sculptor famed for his heroic public monuments, including Abraham Lincoln (Lincoln Park, Chicago), the Robert G. Shaw monument on the Boston Common, and the equestrian statue of General William Sherman (Central Park, N.Y.C.).
